I've got GH2, not going to get GH3. I learned my lesson with Halo about paying large amounts of money for the same thing (oh snap).

Rock Bank comes out in a week, its going to be so much better than Guitar Hero. The only category its not better in is price ($170). It's pretty steep, but worth every penny.

ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Are you serious? Better gameplay (Its exactly the same as GH3, plus vocals, drums, and bass). Maybe in terms of texture quality and polygons it doesn't beat GH3, but the production value is much better. Watching the game is almost like watching a music video. The songs are much better, but thats really an opinion thing.

The biggest thing for me is downloadable content. GH3 = $6.25 for a pack of three songs. What if you only want one of those three? Too bad! You're paying for them all.

For Rock Band, Harmonix is offering packs of songs (grouped by bands, not random choices), and if you don't want all three, you can buy them individually.

And above all that, have you played it yet? If you have a Best Buy near you, go try it for yourself. The whole selling point of the game is playing with friends.

I can't wait till Tuesday

holy krap you can buy other songs on rock band, well to bad not everyones rich. so youre saying that 42 songs plus one extremely hard song isnt enough for you.all the downloadable songs sucked on guitar hero 2 sucked anyway.

Ok, you don't have enough money for downloadable content.
Rock Band is basically Guitar Hero, plus Karaoke Revolution, plus drums all in one game. How could something with X, Y, and Z be worse than something with just X?

The Rock Band guitar is much better than the GH2 Xplorer, and better (though barely) and GH3's Les Paul. Its got a couple newer features, and has an overall better feel.
Cramming all the gameplay data on the screen would seem tough, but they pulled it off really well. It is something you would have to play to believe.

Rock Band actually has a small story to it, and you do more than just play a list of songs in a row, and play the occasional boss battle. You get to choose where you play, and what songs to do. You have to earn money and work your way to the top.

And back to the downloadable content...
Harmonix is trying to take a different route with DLC. Instead of releasing a couple song packs for the game, they already have about 40-50 songs coming out 2-3 months after launch, and have 100's planned for the first year. No one would be stupid enough to buy them all. What they're doing is allowing you to pick songs that you really like, so you get actually (almost) play them with your friends.

Ok well theres 3 boss battles and you probably cant beat the last one. wow karioke revolution, you know all you have to do is hum into it. its a $30 piece of blam. you have to earn money in GH3 too. and I bet anything you cant play on xbox live. you can do coop, pro face offs and battles online. Rock band is only fun if you have at least 4 people over which doesnt happen much and who cares about what the guitar lloks like, I got the xplorer over the les paul for 30 bucks less, sorry but your gonna lose this battle.

I'm sorry, a fledged out story mode beats 3 boss battles and earning money.
Rock Band has the same online modes as GH3, plus they have face-offs for vocals and drums as well.
As far as only having fun with 4 people, how many friends do you have? I have several looking forward to this game, and I'll probably end up playing it all week.

Foosa rock band and guitar hero are made by the same people. But why would the one with more features suck? You don't have to buy or like rock band but don't be insulting other people that do.

Re:guitar heroIII 4 Years, 6 Months ago
*sigh*
Please don't pretend like you know what you're talking about if you don't.

RedOctane didn't make the GH series, they just published it. Harmonix didn't put twice as much time into GH3, because they didn't make it (Neversoft did). They've been spending all their time on Rock Band.
Also, how can you say GH3 has a story mode? You beat songs, get money, and buy pretty upgrades. What if you want to play in a different location? What if you want to choose what songs you play in what venue, and your decisions can effect your fan base and could lose you fans because you're selling out?

Rock Bank has decisions you need to make that effect your bands future, its not about how many stars you get on each song.

Show me where I said I haven't played the game...
I've put in a good 5 or 6 hours so far, I'm just not as interested in it because its the same thing as GH2.

And lil nate - please find something better to do
