HELP- Setting up a tournament!! Need ideas!! 4 Years, 4 Months ago
I am responsible for setting a Halo 3 tourny on campus and need some logistics help-
-what game to play?
-single or double elimination?
-what map to use?
-free-for-all or team play?
-time of each game?
-how many from each game move on?

If anybody has some ideas for these questions please let me know!! Thanks
Eric

- normal team slayer is fun, shotty snipers, 1 and 2 flag CTF, Infection(sometimes)
- depends on how many people you have, I would reconmend single
- Use all the map! I personally like guardian, high ground, and narrows
- Team play I think is more fun
-first to 50
-?

2v2 is probably your best bet, unless you are expecting a large tournament (50 + entrants, then do 4v4).

Pick only smaller maps, like guardian, construct, epitaph, narrows, or maybe isolation.
I'd suggest using MLG or default slayer, and if you do default, see if people are interested in a BR start.

If you do single elimination, do best of 3 maps, best of 5 for the finals, or if you do double, do 1 map, best of 3 for finals.

I personally like double elimination more, but it makes things last much longer.

And please, don't do 1v1. My school did that 2 weeks ago, and it wasn't fun at all.

Dont stress it man. If its something large scaled, why not just use MLGs already put in place system and gametypes. Its easy to understand and the games are simple to keep up with. All their rules are posted on their webpage as well so you can copy everything. Simple and professional.

It would be cool to haveforge tournaments where you can use anyting you want and play to fifty just like a normal slayer game
