FFA Disapointment 4 Years ago
Im sad to say that there were a total of 60 disqualifications in last nights halo 3 FFA tournament. I cannot stress enough how much you should plan in advance and unregister yourself from the tourney if you are not going to make it on time. There are a lot of other people who want to get in the tourneys who would play, dont be selfish and sign up, and then just play if u feel like it. There were kids i sent friend requests to during tournament time, who get DQed because they did not accept the friend request, and when i look at their gamercard, they are playing matchmaking . We would rather have people sign up who are actually going to be there and play, rather than have 60 people get kicked from the tourney, either from not accepting friend requests, not being online, having their list full, not updating their gamertag, and even not accepting invites to games after theyve accepted friend requests. We did not put the unregister button in just because we thought it looked nice, its there for a purpose, so use it. Otherwise, the tournaments went pretty well. No complications and the people that showed up were, for the most part, nice guys and good sports. Hope to see you all sign up and SHOW UP for the upcoming tournaments

I couldn't agree more. Obviously I'm happy with my place in the finals but I feel I was helped greatly.
Round 1 - not enough to play
Round 2 - not enough to play
Round 3 - 4 ppl (only last gets disqualified)
Round 4 - Finally a full game, oh wait 6 people are allowed in
Finals - The only full game I participated in

I thought the tourny rules and maps were just fine, only complaint was the losers who didn't unregister

Very well put. Please unregister for the tournament if you cannot make it. We don't want to start enforcing bans for people and teams who skip tournaments when they are signed up.

Could it be possible to send out like a warning email a few hours before the tournament begins? I always have my email program up I and I think that could help the attendance.

I was in the same group as statefan and while it was kind of nice to have an easy route to the finals, I'd rather just play and it have it actually mean something to get to the finals. The last tournament had a quite a few disqualifications.
I just wish that people would actually take advantage of a free tournament and actually show up.

There really is no way to make a system to know if someone is going to show up or not...
